Total Immersion programme in Finance and Development (TIF)

Background:   Inclusive growth, a fundamental construct in development economics, is the central practice theme for the government and other sectors of the Indian economy. Financial inclusion is the key to achieve inclusive growth, which is the thrust area for banks and financial institutions. This includes all efforts to deliver financial services to the poor. IFMR’s dedicated center, Center for Micro finance, conducts focused research through various field based projects, directed by leading faculty with international experience in this area of research.

Objectives:  This two-week course in Finance and Development is designed to train participants in theoretical and practical issues in providing financial services to the poor and to familiarize them with broad socio-economic-political conditions that characterize the sector. Training session will be directed by leading researchers, practitioners from the Indian government, microfinance institutions (MFIs), and NGOs, as well as, CMF Research Associates.

Target audience: Banks, financial institutions, NGOs, MFIs, Central Bank and other researchers
