Measurement and Management in Micro finance*

Background:   There is an urgent need to improve the operational efficiency of Micro finance activities to bring down the transaction cost of serving the members. This requires Micro finance activities to be configured and managed using the modern management concepts of process centric approach, automation and management through metrics, which will serve multiple purposes like cost measurement and management, institutional changes from a value chain perspective to bring down the cost and effective management of the scale of operations.

Objectives: In this context, this two day offering from IFMR will provide a framework for application of current management practices like measurement and management through activity based costing, balanced score card, use of IT in measurement and management, all with the help of case studies and hands on sessions, focused entirely on micro finance operations.

Target audience:  Senior managers from banks, central bank, micro finance institutions, NGOs and other government officials engaged in micro finance type of activities
