Background:
Inclusive growth, a fundamental construct in development economics, is the central practice theme for the government and other sectors of the Indian economy. Financial inclusion is key to achieve inclusive growth, which is the thrust area for banks and financial institutions. This includes all efforts to deliver financial services to the poor. IFMR’s dedicated center, Center for Micro finance, conducts focused research through various field based projects, directed by leading faculty with international experience in this area of research.
Objectives: This four days course is designed to train participants in theoretical and practical issues in providing financial services to the poor and to familiarize them with issues that characterize the microfinance sector today. Training session will be directed by leading researchers, practitioners from the Indian government, microfinance institutions (MFIs), and NGOs, as well as, CMF Research Associates.
