Environmental Sustainability and Project financing-Emerging frameworks

Background:   Environmental sustainability has become an integral part of the considerations in project financing due to the adverse impact caused by implementing projects without due concern for environmental issues. Understanding the risk and return characteristics of these projects help in design of innovative financing options and explore the possibility of maximizing the revenue flow through carbon credit in some cases. Integrating sustainable investment practices will help the banks in reducing risks and improving the reputation and public image. The opportunities and challenges of adopting a common environmental and social guideline need to be thoroughly analyzed, especially in an emerging investment market like India.

Objectives:  The main objective of this two day program is to present the various dimensions of sustainable investment practices with the help of case studies and interaction with experts which will help in the participants understand this emerging framework of analysis for project financing.

Target audience: Target audience includes senior managers from banks and financial institutions engaged in project financing, credit rating agencies, mutual funds and other institutions engaged in infrastructure financing.
